Draft Report on Carcinogens (RoC) Monograph on Trichloroethylene

Document, Report, or Other Product Information
Title: Draft Report on Carcinogens (RoC) Monograph on Trichloroethylene
Subject: The draft RoC monograph on trichloroethylene consists of two parts: (1) a cancer evaluation component, which is a literature based assessment of the potential carcinogenicity of trichloroethylene and (2) a substance profile which contains the NTP preliminary listing recommendation for trichloroethylene in the RoC, the science considered key in reaching that recommendation, and information on use, production, human exposure and Federal regulations or guidelines to limited exposure to trichloroethylene
Purpose (e.g., abstract): The RoC is a Congressionally mandated, biennial document that identifies and discusses agents, substances, mixtures, or exposure circumstances (collectively referred to as “substances”) that may pose a hazard to human health by virtue of their carcinogenicity. Substances are listed in the RoC following a four-part process (http://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/go/rocprocess) and using established criteria (http://ntp.niehs.nih.gov/go/15209). As per the NTP’s process for preparing the RoC, each draft RoC monograph is peer reviewed by a panel of experts in a public forum.
